Time for us to answer some non-makeup related questions!
Since the opening of our first store in the Plaza, we’ve had a lot of you writing in to ask us about makeup, and a few of you wanting to know about how we started: where our ideas came from, why we opened up a makeup store in Malta, how we went about expanding our stores to reach every makeup lover on the island and beyond - you name it, we’ve been asked it!
Here’s some real talk: the only skincare essentials you absolutely need are a good cleanser, a good sunscreen, and a good moisturiser.
Obviously, more is better, but if you’re on a budget and you need to stick to the basics - and we’ve all been there, loveliess, no shame in that - definitely don’t skimp on a cleanser, sunscreen, and a moisturiser. Not only will your skin get the basic protection that it needs, a good moisturiser can pretty much fix anyone’s problems, no matter what kind of skin you have or what kind of breakouts you’re dealing with. While not a miracle cure, a good moisturiser means soft, supple, and hydrated skin that glows from within.
It’s summer! You know what that means: time to hit up the beaches and get to work on your tan. Add in a good book, a cold drink, and something to keep you going, and say hello to your new lounging spot for the next few months.
But how, you might be asking, am I going to do my face?
Guys and gals and nonbinary pals, it’s official: for the foreseeable future, masks are here to stay, which means that if you’re a makeup enthusiast who thrives on putting your face on before you head outside, your options have become a little more limited with what you can put on and still have a put-together makeup look.
No matter how meticulously you apply your makeup, sometimes things just refuse to work out! Whether it’s your eye-makeup creasing after layers on layers of setting spray, all your makeup melting off because of the summer heat, or finding out the new foundation you bought is half a shade too dark, it’s little problems like these that can take your look from hot stuff to hot mess.
If you want beautiful, flawless makeup, you need to take care of your skin, and the best way to take care of your skin is with a skincare routine. No matter what’s going on in your genetics, great skin is a personal endeavour, not something you can get solely through DNA. However, there’s a lot of information out there about different skincare routines - the oil cleansing method, the Korean 10-step skincare routine, multi-masking; every year brings forth a new ingredient or method to try in order to get the best skin of your life.
